Birthday Guuuurrrll

Today is the real caroline's birthday.  We went out to breakfast at Sky of 57 for a nice semi-buffet.  We think they tricked us into paying for it though since we had a complimentary buffet bfast with our suite at the hotel, but then they "recommended" the semi-buffet on the other end.  It was really nice but one thing.

Mom: I'll have a coffee, please.
Caroline: Oh yes, me too.
Jason: Me too, please.
Wesley: Uhh, can I have an orange juice?
Waiter: You can get the orange juice from the bar, self serve.
Wesley: Okay, thanks.
Jason: Oh, also can I have a water.
Waiter: Sorry, water does not come with the buffet.

*crickets* (at least 4 chirps)

No water? really? REALLY?

After breakfast we went to the Artscience museum which was right outside the hotel.  It was a really cool building with some interesting exhibits.  They call the building the "ten fingers" since it has 10 different length finger things that branch off the side.  They said it was supposed to represent a welcoming hand, as well as a lotus flower...etc.

van gogh alive.  they used projectors and sound to create a theatrical experience.  hard to describe but it was pretty sweet.  you walked around and saw moving pieces of his artwork, then there was a section that was set up like a story book of his life that chronicled his mental illness and family's sickness.

snuck a pic of the "monumental ewer with leaf and cloud patterns" at the shipwrecked exhibit, which was a huge collection of ceramics and metalwork that was found at the bottom of the sea in 1998, from MAD long ago.

  1. Mom has probably taken more pictures during these past few days that she has taken on Singapore trips for the past decade.
