4(meals) wow!

Sorry it's been a couple of days--we've been pretty busy with...eating and seeing old friends and relatives, shopping, walking around, running (i know, right?), etc.

This was breakfast and a yummy one at that.  Sunday morning and mom went to take Ma Ma to her chinese church so we walked to Jalan Leban and ate at the hawker center.  The best thing about these hawker centers is how CHEAP they are...

fried carrot cake with dark sweet sauce (made from white radish and fried with egg, picked vegetables, garlic)

classic sliced fish soup with rice

satay noodles

wonton mee with char siew

Today was pretty difficult because we ate a late breakfast at around 11 (and a big one at that!) and headed pretty much right to lunch.  Aunty Vicky picked us up to go to Mong Hing, a teo chew restaurant that they all like.

for dad!

sambal prawns (fried with eggs and onions)

goose

pork knuckle (i think, or some other part of the pig maybe)

chinese stewed vegetables

I think the left one is liver and the right one is sausage or prawn...or both?

chopped char kway teow

steamed dumplings (dumps)

oh nee (i dont know how to spell it, but it's a yam paste dessert with ginkgo nuts and pumpkin)

aunty vicky's pure mint capsules to help aid digestion, straight from Mustafas in Little India.

After lunch, we headed right to tea with our mom's old friends growing up.  It was at Aunty Linda's house and a bunch of her old friends showed up.  We caught up with our long time friend Shen, Aunty Linda's son, and ate more...

caroline found the animals...

After Aunty Linda's, we went right to Lao Yi's for dinner.  I know, crazy.  4 meals in a row.  Lao Yi is our dad's mother's younger sister, who is so funny.

Goodnight! more to come!  SO MUCH FOOD!
